I wasn't a stranger to failure, though. Throughout my school days, I was the kid perpetually bouncing between ranks 49 and 50 (in a class of 50). But all I had heard growing up was that your 12th grade exams determine your future. So I had pinned all my hopes and efforts on these board exams. Surely, I thought, this time would be different.

As the reality of my score sank in, a small voice in my head whispered, "You'll never be successful." Little did I know, God had other plans.

Remember that 46.6%? Turns out, it was exactly 1.46% more than the minimum required for an engineering seat. Talk about scraping through!

I soon found myself enrolled in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Alliance University, a lifeline I clung to with all my might.

It was in college that everything changed.

To cut the story short, after a powerful God experience and encounters with some lovely people, I discovered a simple yet powerful technique that has helped me learn effectively: note-taking.

Armed with nothing more than an A4 sheet folded in half and a ball point pen, I started jotting down key points from my lectures. This helped me break down complex concepts, making them easier to understand and, most importantly, remember.

The result? I graduated with 88.5% in 2017, coming 4th in class. The same kid who barely passed 12th grade was now leaving engineering college with flying colors.

Post-graduation, my career took an exciting, unexpected path.

I worked for my father, getting my first taste of the business world in 2017.
Discovered a burning passion for digital marketing in 2018.
Landed my first job as a digital marketing specialist in 2019.
Pursued an MBA in Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin, meeting incredible people along the way.
Secured a position at Contentful while still completing my masters in 2020.Finally, I returned to Bangalore and got a job at MathCo in 2021.

At MathCo, I found myself at the heart of an exciting transformation. What started as managing social media quickly evolved into spearheading our entire brand relaunch on our social media platforms. Single-handedly designing and executing our social media strategy, I grew our LinkedIn audience to over 160,000 followers. Our engagement rates soared, and our content strategy became so effective that our competitors started emulating our approach.

Looking back at that 46.6% in 12th grade, I realize that numbers don't define your future - your determination and willingness to learn do. Today, I'm not just surviving in the corporate world; I'm thriving, leading global partnerships, and driving digital transformation. That scared teenager checking his results would never believe where his journey would lead.

And this is just the beginning.
